Born and raised on his family’s farm in the Missouri Bootheel, Barry Bean attended the University of the South in Sewanee, TN, pursued his graduate studies at Memphis State University, and attended the Memphis Cotton Exchange International Cotton School before returning to Missouri to join the family business in 1993. He currently operates Bean & Bean Cotton company, brokering spot cotton and offering risk management consulting to Mid-South producers, gins, and co-ops. Bean is a member of the Memphis Cotton Exchange, the Cotton Producers of Missouri, and the National Cotton Council.
With over 20 years experience in the spot business, Bean has a broad network of resources within the cotton industry, and a thorough familiarity with both the US farm program and regional trading norms.
